Looking for a dog breeds to suggest to a friend?

I would suggest a beagle. I know you said it would be to feisty, but some beagles can be really really REALLY calm. My friend has a beagle that is the calmest dog you will ever meet! I also have a beagle, but he is 100% energy, so don't get your friend a beagle like mine! But ya, Beagles can be pretty calm.
