What is happening with HMS Illustrious ?

Is HMS Illustrious still in operation, if so where is it at the moment ? Is the ship able to carry out operations anymore as the UK scrapped our whole Harrier jet fleet in the public spending cuts, also the Ark Royal aircraft carrier was also scrapped in the spending cuts, but why was Illustrious not mentioned ?
