What is the current structure of the RAF?

What with the SDSR, everything to do with the RAF has confused me. What is Wittering and Cottesmore's purpose now that Harrier has gone? Which other RAF bases are going to close? And furthermore, is there any point me applying for a job next year? Being in the RAF is my dream career, and I don't want it to be ended by a bunch of useless politicians. Thanks :)
