What is so wrong with the Harrier?

Like all things they become out of date. The finest it may be but if something comes along that is better then it has to go. This has been going on since the year dot. Cross bows ousted long bows, Rifles ousted muskets. Guided missiles ousted shells and bombs. Meteors ousted Spitfires and Hurricanes, Javelins ousted Meteors, and so it will go on. The time will come in the near future when fighting planes will be a thing of the past as will tanks. In the future wars will be fought with computers. And I,m not a Star Wars fan.
