Would this work as a for a new military submarine?

ive seen submarines and as what i believe that they only move forward and possibly backward. now i just saw this scientists talking about a robot that they made of this fish named ghost knife fish: whats special about this fish is that he can move in al four directions so think about it like this. the scientist use the motor theyve invented and place it ina submarine which would give it a very superior advantage at any underwater battle . it would be called the ghostknife so think of this submarine would be the opposite of a harrier aircraft
